DEF handling at center of upcoming webinar
Thunder Creek Equipment plans to host a free webinar focused on diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) handling and best practices for the construction industry.
The webinar, scheduled for Dec. 6, will explore how DEF can become contaminated in transit or on a jobsite, as well as the many types of risks to high-horsepower equipment associated with improper DEF handling.
In addition, the webinar will cover standards and best practices to maintain DEF purity, the value of API-certified DEF and a number of other topics related to DEF handling for construction equipment.
“Worldwide DEF consumption is expected to increase more than 400 percent in the next 10 years,” says Luke Van Wyk, owner and national sales manager at Thunder Creek Equipment. “If a business owner isn’t currently running machines with selective catalytic reduction, it is very likely that they will be soon.
“We put together this webinar to help educate owners, operators, fleet managers, technicians, purchasers – anyone who works with DEF – so that as an industry we can continue to define standards and best practices as this technology becomes a more critical part of our world,” Van Wyk adds.
Van Wyk will serve as the host and moderator of the webinar. In addition to his role at Thunder Creek, Van Wyk serves on the Association of Equipment Management Professionals’ committee for fuel and DEF purity.
