Harvester delivers high performance in various terrains
Komatsu America Corp.’s 931XC 8WD harvester delivers high levels of performance, productivity, operator comfort and serviceability in steep, rough or soft terrain harvesting environments, according to Komatsu.
The 931XC features a 251-hp Tier 4 Final-certified engine, which offers high torque backup and a high-capacity cooling system. The harvester system starts with Komatsu’s plus-or-minus 40-degree articulated frame joint, rear-swing axle with plus-or-minus 16-degree left or right oscillation, and the high-oscillation Komatsu Comfort Bogie axle. The Komatsu Comfort Bogie axle is added to the rear-swing axle to provide strong uphill or downhill and left or right oscillation, the company says.
A three-pump hydraulic system also provides users with high hydraulic working flow at lower engine speeds than other systems, Komatsu says. One hydraulic pump and circuit is dedicated to the transmission and maneuvering of the machine, and the other two pumps are for the hydraulic working flow.
Komatsu’s standard 360-degree cab and crane rotation and four-way cab and crane leveling systems offer operators with productivity and comfort, Komatsu says. These features maximize the size of the working area, allowing operators to harvest more trees per stop. The company also offers a range of harvesting heads to meet specific application needs. Komatsu’s C144 “carry-style” head, which has four motors and four heavy-duty driven feed rollers, pairs well with the 931XC.
