XL Specialized Trailers' 90 HDE trailer works for tall loads

XL 90 HDE trailer

The XL 90 hydraulic detachable extendable (HDE) trailer from XL Specialized Trailers uses the company’s extendable technology to lengthen the trailer’s main deck from 28 ft., 4 in. to 50 ft., 3 in. The lowboy’s Extend-A-Trac uses 6-in. rollers with oil-impregnated bronze bushings for smoother extension and retraction.

The unit is ideal for tall loads, as it has an 18-in. loaded deck height on the main deck, while the rear deck transitions to a 24-in. height. A detachable wheel area allows drivers to insert more decking to the trailer. The 53 ft., 5 in. trailer features a flip axle and a 44 in. flip neck with kingpin settings at 16 and 24 in. to help users scale larger loads.

According to XL, operators can appreciate the XL 90 HDE’s versatility. The unit comes with a pin-on axle, but it is prepped for a single-axle power booster, as well. The trailer also includes a 20,000-lb. brake rating, a second leveling valve and a shut-off valve on all axles.
