The Walz Load Scanner (WLS) system, a non-contact measurement instrument, measures volumetric loads in open-top vehicles, Walz Scale reports. The system incorporates eye-safe laser scanners to determine the actual amount of material carried in vehicles. As vehicles drive below the scanner head, the laser scanners measure the 3-D shape profile and record data from the scanner to determine the actual amount of material within the truck bed, according to Walz Scale. Walz Scale says its WLS returns the actual carried load volume and graphical imagery for each load. The system provides net total weight if material density is known, material fragmentation analysis, load position analysis, load compaction and cycle time analysis. The company says WLS generates load tickets for each vehicle for drivers and record keeping that can be printed or emailed, depending on system settings.
