Case Construction Equipment CX210DCase Construction Equipment introduced its D-Series excavator line to the trade press during an event in Tomahawk, Wis., at the company’s customer service center campground. All four excavators in the series feature LED lighting with two lights in the front, two in the back and one on each side for better visibility to work at night. Case discussed how all four excavators come with Tier 4 Final engines and a Case Pro Care warranty.

A few details on the four D-Series excavators:

  • Ÿ The CX210D, which weighs 49,000 lbs., has a 160-hp engine. It works best for roadwork and residential excavating jobs.
  • Ÿ The CX250D, which weighs 57,000 lbs., has a 177-hp engine. It works best for commercial and residential earthmoving jobs. This excavator also comes in a long-reach model.
  • Ÿ The CX300D, which weighs 67,000 lbs., has a 207-hp engine. It works best for road and bridge jobs in the construction industry.
  • Ÿ The CX350D, which weighs 82,000 lbs., has a 268-hp engine. It works best for aggregates-related jobs.

Philippe Bisson, Case brand marketing manager of wheel loaders and excavators, says the LED lights on the excavators give operators 150 ft. of visibility from any direction, which helps with night jobs.

The D-Series excavators also come with Case Site Watch, a telematics system that lets operators know how often the machine is idling.

“These excavators have a 3,000-hour warranty, but if they’re idling frequently, that time will go by quicker,” says Brad Stemper, Case solutions marketing manager. “That’s why [Case Site Watch] telematics are so useful – you can extend the life of a machine by checking this system.”

In addition, Case announced plans to launch Case Site Solutions Academy this summer to provide operators with online training tools. Stemper says the online tool will give operators and dealers the opportunity to discuss with one another best uses of their equipment.

“It will be a baseline of information so all customers receive the same basic training needs,” Stemper says. “It’s a personal-driven resource that allows customers to learn about the equipment at their own pace. They can go through Case Site Solutions Academy in bites or mouthfuls at a time.”

Also new this year is the TR340 compact track loader, which features a Tier 4 Final engine and selective catalytic reduction technology. Case says much of the loader’s value is in its operating capacity and breakout bucket force.
