Caterpillar’s F-series wheeled excavators offer operators a larger working envelope and a range of updated configurations and attachments. The F-series wheeled excavators include the M314F, M316F and M322F, all of which use engines that meet Tier 4 Final standards. The machines feature an optional automatic system that senses machine parameters, locks the axle oscillation function and sets service brakes to prepare the machine to dig. According to Cat, this feature reduces operator fatigue by removing the need to constantly press the brake pedal. Brake and axle locks are automatically released when the operator presses the travel pedal again. The F series also includes quick coupler lines and circuits compatible with Cat’s Pin Grabber Coupler, which allows operators to make quick attachment changes from within the cab. Additionally, Cat upgraded the interior on its F-series models by expanding the door space, adding optionally heated mirrors and installing light protectors. Standard LED lights also replace halogen lighting from previous Cat wheeled excavator models for better lighting at lower power consumption levels.
