Talbert Manufacturing released the 5553TA traveling axle trailer for a number of applications, including general construction and towing and recovery operations.

According to the company, the 5553TA is ideal for moving low clearance and dead loads due to its planetary winch and redesigned piggy-back cylinder, which provides 25 percent more power to axles in adverse conditions.

Furthermore, the trailer’s 36-in. loaded deck height and 6-degree load angle help provide safe, efficient loading and unloading for small to mid-size construction equipment, the company says.

Additional features of the 5553TA include two large capacity lockable toolboxes – one driver’s side and one curbside – which include built-in chain racks and weather-resistant door seals.

The 55-ton, 53-ft. trailer is rated at 100,000 pounds distributed and 80,000 pounds concentrated in 10 ft., Talbert says. In addition, the trailer is made with heavy-duty T-1, 100,000-psi minimum yield steel and 1.5-in. Apitong deck flooring designed for improved durability and longevity, according to the company.

“Talbert strives to manufacture trailers with our customers’ needs in mind,” says Troy Geisler, vice president of sales and marketing at Talbert Manufacturing. “The 5553TA brings our signature durability and versatility to a number of industries where these attributes are key to safety and success.”
