AEMA-ARRA-ISSA 2021 meeting to be held virtually

The event, originally scheduled to be held in person Feb. 15-19, will now be held virtually from Feb. 15-18.

PPRA logoThe 2021 AEMA-ARRA-ISSA annual meeting – hosted by the Asphalt Emulsion Manufacturers Association (AEMA), the Asphalt Recycling & Reclaiming Association (ARRA) and the International Slurry Surfacing Association (ISSA) – will be held as a virtual meeting.

The associations – collectively known as the Pavement Preservation & Recycling Alliance (PPRA) – originally scheduled the event to be held in person Feb. 15-19, but it will now be held virtually from Feb. 15-18.

“The decision to hold the annual meeting virtually was an especially difficult one,” says Bob Huitt, AEMA annual program chair. “We could not, in good conscience, be reckless and run the risk of possibly contributing to the spread of the virus at our annual meeting even if we were to take all the precautions that are recommended.”

According to the associations, a range of factors were taken into consideration, including participant health and safety, speaker commitment, travel restrictions, and educational and social programming. PPRA says it is working to create a virtual meeting that will provide exceptional content for attendees.

“As we close a year filled with challenges and uncertainty, now, more than ever, we need to connect with our association friends and colleagues to recharge and prepare for the days ahead,” says Dave Welborn, ISSA annual meeting program chair. “With the user-friendly format and schedule, every presentation and event from each association will be at attendees’ disposal, and the content will be fresh and relevant.”
