Rapid International, which manufactures machinery for the concrete, construction and environmental industries, is building a 14,000-sq.-ft. extension to its existing 50,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility in Northern Ireland.

According to Rapid International, the extension will provide increased manufacturing capabilities for Rapid and its division, Rapid Power Generation. Construction is expected to be completed this December.

The extension is for the manufacture of Rapid Power Generation’s range of diesel and natural gas generators. The facility will include a dedicated workshop for the production of electrical panels, a main factory floor for general fabrication and assembly, and a suite of offices and staff areas.

“We’re delighted to see work commence on our new factory extension,” says Mark Lappin, managing director of Rapid International. “This expansion will offer us significantly increased capacity to meet future demand for the Rapid family of companies, as well as [provide] 30 new jobs for the local community.”

Rapid’s equipment portfolio includes track- and wheel-mounted mobile continuous mixing plants, static and mobile concrete batching plants, concrete mixers and concrete reclaimers.
