Morbark appointed Kevin Hills as its remanufacturing business unit director.
Hills has worked at Morbark for 30 years and most recently served as its dealer service consultant. In his new position, Hills will lead the company in expanding its remanufactured and factory-refurbished equipment focus.
“Not all of our customers are looking for new equipment – particularly given how rugged a Morbark machine is built in the first place,” Hills says. “Reinvigorating our remanufacturing process allows us to provide the high quality and exacting standards our customers expect from Morbark new equipment on a used model.”
Morbark has offered refurbished equipment for years, the company says, but it wants to place a bigger emphasis on this service due to increasing customer demand. Morbark plans to provide customers with three levels of remanufactured equipment, including the following:
- Rebuilt – Rebuilt machines have been stripped to the frame and inspected throughout. Components with less than 50 percent wear life left are replaced and the unit is given a complete clean, paint and decal service.
- Refurbished – A refurbished machine has safety issues inspected and repaired, and the whole unit is touched up.
- Used – A basic used machine has safety issues addressed, plus basic service work completed on the filters, oils, knives and tips.
“These are all solid Morbark models with years of life left in them,” Hills adds. “We also do custom service work. Whether you need minor repairs or a full tear-down rebuild, we can work with you in getting the most out of your equipment.”
