The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) produced a brush chipper safety manual that outlines safe equipment operation, start-up and shutdown guidelines and maintenance precautions for various types of brush chippers.
AEM’s manual includes pictures and safety messages to supplement brush chipper manufacturer-operating manuals. According to AEM, manufacturer members working through AEM’s Environmental & Reduction Equipment Council (EREC) and AEM’s Forestry Equipment Council provided content development, review and input for the manual.
“Manufacturers design and build machines to enable the operators to work safely,” says Tom Haley, product safety manager for Vermeer Corp., as well as past chair of AEM’s EREC. “The AEM consensus manuals are an additional industry resource to help reinforce safe operating practices.”
AEM adds that all of its safety manuals, videos and related safety and training products are available at its online store to provide a convenient and cost-effective way to distribute safety information to equipment operators.
