Allu, a manufacturer of screening and crushing bucket attachments, introduced Allu Asphalt, a hybrid screen solution engineered for processing cold-milled asphalt and reclaimed asphalt pavement.
Allu says the Allu Asphalt is designed to process material in a faster, cleaner and more cost-effective manner.
“Globally, there’s a clear shift toward sustainable infrastructure in construction business,” says Peter Grönholm, CEO of Allu. “Asphalt recycling plays a major role in this movement, and our new Allu Asphalt bucket empowers contractors to turn reclaimed and cold-milled asphalt into high-quality, reusable material directly on-site. It’s a smarter, more profitable way to work, and we’re proud to help drive this transformation across the industry.”
Allu says its asphalt bucket can crush clumps, screen fines and separate oversized particles in a single pass.
“At a time when efficiency, sustainability and profitability are key, the Allu Asphalt bucket ticks all the boxes,” says Tom Chapman, managing director at Allu’s MRD Plant in the UK. “It does the job of a mobile impact crusher, but at a fraction of the cost and with far less complexity on-site.”
Under the hood
The asphalt bucket utilizes a hybrid blade configuration – a mix of screening and crushing blades – to offer consistently high-quality end products, Allu says. This combination enables operators to process cold-milled asphalt directly at the source, eliminating the need for additional crushing equipment.
“The hybrid blade setup is what makes this bucket so effective,” Grönholm says. “It delivers just the right mix of crushing force and fine screening to process asphalt efficiently in a single step.”
With nominal screen sizes of 12, 16 and 25 mm, the bucket can produce more than 95 percent of finished material below target size, reducing reprocessing needs, according to the company.
The Allu Asphalt can crush and screen simultaneously. The company says this eliminates the need for separate pre-crushing or secondary equipment.
Additionally, Allu says its asphalt bucket reduces operator reliance on mobile impact crushers, cutting fuel consumption, wear part expenses and overall cost per ton. The bucket can produce up to 250 tph, with rapid drum changeouts.
The Allu Asphalt can fit on excavators ranging from 25 to 45 tons and wheel loaders ranging from 15 to 30 tons.
