Built for demanding excavation jobs and space-restrictive work, the Terex TC85 compact crawler excavator features a combination of short radius tail-swing and a Knickmatic boom offset to allow operators to dig alongside the machine’s tracks.
The machine comes with three track options: rubber (standard), steel and steel with rubber pads. The excavator boasts bucket capabilities from 3.1 to 10.8 cu. ft., a dig depth of 14 ft., 10 in. and a reach of 25 ft. 4 in. Terex says the model’s deep digging capability makes it an ideal machine for various industries.
The TC85 includes a dual-circuit hydraulics system with load-independent flow distribution to allow functions to be controlled simultaneously and independently of each other. Terex tuned the system to control all functions at all engine speeds, independently of the load. The TC85 was designed with a low center of gravity so that the weight is evenly distributed.
Terex designed the TC85 with a spacious cab that offers high visibility of the jobsite from around the operator’s seat. It also features a comfortable workstation that comes standard with air conditioning and premium seat options.
In addition, design characteristics such as top-mounted boom cylinders come on the TC85 model to prevent cylinder damage. Terex adds that the cylinders are inverse mounted so the seal faces down, which prevents dirt build-up and prevents against wear.
