Caterpillar expanded the range of its couplers with the Cat Mini Hydraulic Excavator Universal Coupler. It’s designed for use with 4-, 5- and 8-ton mini excavators.
This universal coupler either pins to the stick or can be picked up with the Dual Lock Coupler, which allows skid-steer attachments to be interchanged and operated on the excavator, the company says.
The tools offered in the skid-steer interface include bale spears, pallet forks, and multi- and general-purpose buckets. According to the company, the Mini Hydraulic Excavator Universal Coupler incorporates manual handles to lock tools in place. It weights 286 pounds and allows users to pick up a wider range of attachments.
