Volvo Construction Equipment’s EC20D excavator offers the largest-in-class cab and improved lifting capacity in a compact, fuel-efficient package. Volvo’s D-Series compact excavator line uses Volvo D0.9A Tier 4 Final engines that are 10 percent more fuel-efficient when equipped with the machine’s auto engine shutdown option. An updated idling system also reduces fuel consumption and noise disturbance by switching engine speed to idle if the controls are inactive for more than five seconds. The EC20D’s spacious cab features all-around visibility, no extra auxiliary floor pedals and intuitive controls for operator comfort. All controls are ergonomically placed, and the large travel pedals allow operators to easily maneuver the machine in tight spaces. Additionally, the excavator’s dozer blade comes with a welded-on cutting edge for better wear resistance.
