John Deere’s 550K, 650K and 700K crawler dozers all meet Tier 4 Final emissions standards and include features such as Eco mode with an updated electro-hydraulic control system, according to the company. Mark Oliver, crawler dozer product marketing manager for John Deere Construction and Forestry, says the three crawler dozers are “cousins” to John Deere’s 850K and 1050K.

The crawler dozers’ Eco mode automatically adjusts engine speed and transmission settings based on load, which saves customers up to 20 percent in fuel with no loss in productivity. The crawler dozers also incorporate a blade shake feature with electro-hydraulic controls to help material shed from the blade in sticky soil conditions.

A larger hydraulic pump is available for the 550K and 650K for both mechanical controls and the electro-hydraulic system. Oliver says there are two additional blade size options for the 700K to help match machine performance. A 126-in. blade is available in addition to the 120-in. blade on an XLT frame, and a 144-in. blade is available along with a 132-in. blade on an LGP frame.
