John Deere upgraded three models in its G-Series excavator line. The models – the 250G LC, 350G LC and 380G LC – are each equipped with a Tier 4 Final engine.

According to John Deere, the 250G LC features a 188-hp John Deere PowerTech PVS 6.8-liter engine. Both the 350G LC and 380G LC feature a PowerTech PSS 9.0-liter engine with 271 hp. Operators don’t have to worry about diesel particulate filter (DPF) cleaning as cleaning still occurs automatically with no impact to machine operation. Also, John Deere says its DPF can go up to 15,000 hours before ash removal.

To increase uptime, John Deere designed the G-Series models with a larger hood for improved engine access. For convenience, the nine-pin diagnostic connector was moved into the cab to reduce diagnostic testing time for technicians. Another improvement is a single-side ground-level fluid filter service, which moves the engine oil, fuel and hydraulic pilot oil filters to ground level on the right side of the machine.
