SBM Mineral Processing showcased several crushers earlier this year at Hillhead. The show served as the official UK market launch for the Remax 600 impact crusher, and the company used the show as an opportunity to focus on the benefits of fully hybrid processing. The Remax 600 – the Austrian manufacturer’s new flagship crusher – features a maximum output of 600 tph with a 1400 class impact crusher. SBM says the machine is suitable for a range of applications in raw materials and recycling and, depending on the equipment, up to five end products in a single pass. SBM’s Remax 450 also garnered attention at Hillhead as it processed a total of 1,500 tons of limestone during a demo at the show.
Metal detector suitable for a range of applications
Eriez debuted a new metal detector that’s tailored for use in crushed stone, sand and gravel applications. The new MetAlarm metal detector, which Eriez launched at Hillhead, is specifically designed for installation in fixed-site quarries and mobile crushing plants. Eriez says the metal detector’s is optimized to detect damaging iron and manganese steel, providing protection for crushers, screens and conveyor belts. In collaboration with Cardiff University, Eriez developed the MetAlarm to address the challenges aggregate producers face. By automating metal detection, Eriez says the MetAlarm enhances productivity and profitability while mitigating the safety and health risks associated with the manual inspection of hazardous materials. According to Eriez, Heidelberg Materials tested a MetAlarm prototype at a quarry in the UK. Heidelberg Materials reported a reduction in equipment downtime, which boosted production and throughput.
Company showcases numerous products, pieces of equipment
Terex Materials Processing (MP) made its presence known at Hillhead, with a variety of brands launching new products and equipment involved in the show’s demos. Terex MP also launched Magna, a brand designed to meet the demands of customers requiring larger-volume processing solutions. In all, Terex MP displayed 19 products across six different brands. In the demo area, Terex MP featured the new Powerscreen 1300X Maxtrak cone crusher, the EvoQuip Bison 220R jaw crusher, the Finlay electric I-120RS impact crusher and the Finlay electric 883+ scalping screen. A new Finlay TG500 tracked generator powers the two Finlay plants. Other Terex MP products featured in exhibits were the Powerscreen Titan 600, the Powerscreen Warrior 1400XE (hybrid), the Finlay J-1170+, the EvoQuip Caiman shredder and the MDS M412 recycling trommel.
