Simformotion, a provider of heavy equipment simulator training solutions, released SimLite Excavator – its new Cat Simulators System.

According to the company, the system is set in a city construction environment and teaches heavy equipment operation skills for the excavator, specifically. The compact, portable system allows learners and instructors to utilize training indoors at socially distanced stations or even travel off-site with users.

Designed as a self-contained educational tool, SimLite does not require internet connectivity to use the system and is available in multiple languages. Exercises include maneuvering the machine around a worksite, how to perform a walkaround inspection, trenching and principles of loading. Furthermore, an open training mode in each exercise allows for additional practice and skill refinement, as well as recreating site-specific scenarios.

A complete online curriculum is also available to accompany SimLite, which provides videos, instructor guides, lessons, quizzes, tests and more.

“We’ve heard from schools, training centers and business – they have to keep training, despite the pandemic,” says Lara Aaron, CEO of Simformotion. “So that meant engineering a design compact enough that it could travel easily in pelican cases or be set up in classrooms at a safe distance. All of the things people love about Cat Simulators is packed into SimLite, including OEM controls and our exclusive reporting program, SimU Campus.”
