Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas unveiled two new models of excavators in its HX Series: the HX140L and the HX235LCR. Hyundai says the two excavators provide up to 10 percent better fuel economy and 5 percent better productivity compared to the company’s previous models. The 14-ton HX140L excavator, powered by a Perkins 1204F Tier 4 Final engine, achieves a maximum dig depth of 22 ft., 1 in. and a maximum digging reach of 32 ft., 9 in. The 24-ton HX235LCR excavator, powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 Tier 4 Final engine, achieves a maximum digging depth of 22 ft. and a maximum digging reach of 32 ft., 6 in. A hydraulic system also provides a “boom float” mode on both excavators for better grading control. Hyundai adds that both excavator models include an 8-in. interactive touchscreen cluster-monitor in the cab. Operators can use the touchscreen cluster-monitor to view operations around the machine.
