The U.S. Department of Labor‘s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) published a Technical Assistance Guide (TAG) to educate and update the construction industry on current regulations.

According to OFCCP, the TAG will help contractors meet legal requirements and responsibilities for equal employment opportunity by preventing violations while also providing compliance assistance resources.

The TAG also provides self-assessment tools for contractors to review equal employment opportunity practices, eliminate discrimination and assist construction contractors with meeting their obligations required under law.

“The construction technical assistance guide provides comprehensive and clear guidance that will help ensure equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination in the construction sector,” says Craig Leen, programs director at the OFCCP.

OFCCP is a civil rights agency in the Department of Labor whose mission is to foster, promote and develop the welfare of the wage earners, job seekers, and retirees of the U.S.; improve working conditions; advance opportunities for profitable employment; and assure work-related benefits and rights.
