Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas introduced the HX130LCR, the third compact-radius excavator model in the company’s HX series product line.

The 13.5-ton machine is also available in a second standard configuration, the HX130LCRD, which includes a dozer blade.

The HX130LCR is powered by a 73.6-hp Perkins 854F Tier 4 Final diesel engine. The LCR model has a standard operating weight of 29,750 pounds, while the LCRD model’s standard operating weight is 31,290 pounds. It achieves a maximum digging depth of 18 ft., 4 in. and a maximum digging reach of 27 ft., providing a bucket digging force of 22,860 ft.-lb.

In addition, Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) introduced its 2.7-ton EC27D excavator at the International Construction & Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE).

According to Volvo CE, the excavator features 5 percent greater fuel economy and has 30 percent less horsepower when compared to its predecessor. The EC27D boasts a Volvo D1.1A Tier 4 Final engine with passive regeneration.

Meanwhile, Genesis Attachments launched its new GHB line of hydraulic breakers. GHB models range from 250 to 12,000 ft.-lb. of impact energy and feature an optimized power-to-weight ratio.

Additionally, the new dry-fire protection prevents the hammer from firing when the tool is not loaded, protecting key components of the hammer that include tie rods and side rods.

Elsewhere, Goodyear added a 20.5R25 size to its AS-3A all-season off-the-road (OTR) tire. The 20.5R25 AS-3A tire has a 40/32-in. tread depth for improved traction.

The AS-3A tire boasts specifically placed blades for optimized ice and snow traction, multiple groove edges for enhanced traction, flexible block elements for low stone retention, wide-base construction for high stability and a unique groove shape for self-cleaning in all conditions, the company says.
