Material separator simplifies sorting process

The Komptech Hurrifex combines a stone separator and wind sifter into a single machine so that stones and light items can be removed from material streams in one work step, the company says. The machine sorts stones and light contraries out of woody material to help recyclers. Items from the material streams can be removed at a separation rate of up to 95 percent, according to Komptech. Since the Hurrifex only requires one step, the company says it saves operators space, material handling effort, energy costs and transportation costs.
