Mecalac, a manufacturer of compact construction equipment, debuted its AS900tele in North America.
The 8-ton AS900tele combines the compactness and mobility of Mecalac’s AS swing loader series with telescopic technology to provide added versatility, the company says. The machine features 22.2 gpm auxiliary hydraulics for increased flexibility and allows for use with a range of attachments, according to Mecalac, minimizing the amount of equipment needed on-site.
“When you rely on one machine for each task, a jobsite can end up looking more like a parking lot,” says Peter Bigwood, general manager for Mecalac North America. “Reducing the need for additional equipment and streamlining the jobsite is at the heart of Mecalac’s design philosophy, including the AS900tele. It’s good for the contractor, the client and the environment.”
According to Mecalac, operators can swing the bucket 90 degrees to either side, allowing for added versatility in a range of applications, including road work, urban jobsites and work in confined spaces.
The AS900tele features a lifting height of 15.5 ft. and outreach of 11.5 ft., as well as a carrying capacity of 5,004 pounds at full extension. In addition, the machine features three steering options – two-wheel, four-wheel and crab – which allows operators to simultaneously drive, maneuver and pivot, the company says.
“All the AS Series units were designed around a single idea – how do we improve the articulated loader to provide better efficiency and streamline the worksite,” says Peter Bigwood, general manager for Mecalac North America. “The AS900tele takes that innovation a step further, replacing two or even three other machines without sacrificing the productivity or safety of Mecalac’s swing loader.”
