Doosan Infracore North America introduced its next-generation -7 Series crawler excavators to the U.S. and Canada. The initial launch includes four models – the Doosan DX140LCR-7, DX225LC-7, DX255LC-7 and DX350LC-7 – with additional excavators to come soon. Doosan says its -7 Series crawler excavators deliver fuel efficiency and productivity for operators. Updates to the -7 Series include a strengthened work group with reinforced castings and forged steel pivot points for withstanding high-impact work. A new Y-shaped seal at the end of the excavator’s arm provides better sealing to the bucket connection for more performance and durability, according to Doosan. Additionally, the company added material to the excavator’s mainframe for higher performance and jobsite versatility.
Loader ideal for rental, municipal markets

Caterpillar launched the 966 GC wheel loader, which it designed for reliable and efficient operation. According to the company, the Cat-designed components, on-demand fan, load-sensing hydraulics and intuitive controls keep fuel consumption and operating costs low, making the 966 GC a versatile machine that fits the needs of the rental and municipal markets. The Cat C9.3B engine meets Tier 4 Final emission standards with a gross power rating of 321 hp. Cat says the engine’s automatic Cat clean emissions module, including selective catalytic reduction and diesel particulate filter, works in the background without impacting the production schedule. The engine idle management system, auto engine idle shutdown, variable-speed fan and load-sensing hydraulics help result in low fuel consumption and reduced sound levels, the company says.
Comfort, visibility features built into track loader

ASV Holdings introduced the RT-50 Posi-Track loader. The machine’s 53.8-hp engine is up 8 percent from the previous model. According to ASV, the repowered RT-50 offers improved serviceability that allows owners to service the Yanmar engine at ASV dealers. The RT-50 features a Tier 4, three-cylinder, turbocharged Yanmar engine. It has a high-tractive effort and exceptional pushing and digging power with ASV’s Posi-Power system. ASV says its new compact track loader allows contractors to be more productive, measuring 58.5-in. wide and 9.1-ft. lift tall with a 1,400-pound rated operating capacity and 7.1 mph top speed. In addition to these benefits, the RT-50 features new comfort, visibility and performance features, providing construction-grade performance in a small package.
