The V7 compact wheel loader from Yanmar Compact Equipment fills the gap in the company’s wheel loader line, fitting between the V4-7 and V8. The 9,370-pound, 47.6-hp machine features a low operating weight, comfortable cab area and high bucket capacity, according to Yanmar. Its compact design, intuitive controls and high travel speeds maximize performance and efficiency for operators in landscaping, rental, municipalities, snow removal and other applications, the company says. Yanmar’s V7 features a 0.92-cu.-yd. bucket capacity, which Yanmar says means fewer trips to the pile. An optional light material bucket brings bucket capacity to more than a full cubic yard with each scoop. The compact wheel loader also includes a Tier 4 Final Yanmar engine, allowing for a lifting capacity of 7,981 pound-force. According to Yanmar, hydraulic quick couplers on the V7 allow for fast attachment change-outs. The machine also features parallel kinematics, allowing contractors to lift loads with precision without the need for constant readjustment of the load angle. The feature is ideal for use with pallet forks, as it keeps material level as the load is raised and lowered, the company says.

Case Construction Equipment recently debuted its first all-electric mini excavator in North America – the CX15EV – at an Illinois contractor. The CX15EV mini excavator is the first model available in Case’s new EV lineup, with the CX25EV mini excavator and an electrified small articulated loader scheduled to launch in 2024. Case says its compact, 1.5-metric ton mini excavator gives contractors a powerful machine for working in indoor and outdoor environments where a minimal footprint is required. The CX15EV fits through almost any entryway and offers the same working performance as a diesel machine – all while delivering the benefits of electrified construction equipment: zero on-site emissions, minimized noise and less maintenance, according to the company. The CX15EV is compatible with many attachments – including various buckets, augers and hydraulic hammers – making it a versatile tool for getting more work done efficiently, Case says.

Hydraulic thumb attachment available for skid, wheeled excavators

A hydraulic thumb attachment from Mecalac is compatible with the company’s recently re-configured two-piece boom with offset, available for the company’s 6MCR skid excavators and 7MWR wheeled excavator models. The company says its hydraulic thumb makes it easy to pick up, maintain and move large or long objects in applications such as truck loading or pipe laying. Mecalac adds that the attachment is a fit for contractors in industries including utilities, landscaping, road maintenance and general construction. The hydraulic thumb permanently mounts to the bucket linkage where it is powered by the boom’s hydraulic cylinder. Unlike grappling buckets or other attachments that must be dismantled during other operations, Mecalac says its hydraulic thumb can remain attached during digging work or other tasks. The attachment is composed of four teeth and is compatible with Mecalac’s Connect hydraulic quick coupler. Mecalac says this variation of its boom design maintains range of motion and lifting force. Dimensions and work envelope remain similar to the standard boom, Mecalac says, and attachments such as loader buckets and pallet forks are still compatible.
