The National Demolition Association (NDA) canceled its Demolition New Orleans event, which was scheduled for March 3-4 in New Orleans.
NDA’s board of directors voted unanimously to cancel the event.
NDA cites continued uncertainty around in-person events, noting Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards recently extended the state’s modified Phase 2 order, which strongly urges the avoidance of large gatherings.
“We know the timing of our announcement comes as a disappointment so early in 2021,” the association says. “While we regret canceling the event, we are confident this decision is in the best interest of all attendees, exhibitors and volunteers. Although we will not be gathering in-person, NDA is exploring opportunities to celebrate those who have reached great milestones in their careers and innovative project work within the last year.
“We will share details about the upcoming education and the presentation of the 2021 awards as they become available,” NDA adds.
NDA expects to hold its next in-person event, the Demolition Convention and Expo, from Feb. 26 to March 1, 2022, in San Diego.
