The National Demolition Association (NDA) is partnering with the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) to provide demolition-specific training for OSHA compliance safety and health officers (CSHOs).

According to NDA, the new recorded trainings are part of a four-part training series for OSHA on demolition best practices and techniques which focus on health hazards, fall protection, pre-engineering and robotics. The trainings will, in turn, help CSHOs understand jobsite needs and processes for demolition professionals.

OSHAAccording to NDA, the collaboration between the two organizations is part of an ongoing effort to provide training, procedures and continued education within the demolition industry.

“This training is part of a yearlong effort to implement an alliance that will provide members with OSHA compliance assistance,” says Chris Godek, president of NDA. “A continued partnership between NDA and OSHA positions NDA as the voice of the demolition industry. The partnership gives our members access to compliance assistance resources and leverages greater communication between our organizations on compliance and standards that have an impact on demolition practices.”

The training was originally scheduled for April 3, consisting of both live classroom instruction and on-site demonstration, but was reformatted for digital consumption, NDA says.

Following the training series, NDA and OSHA have a mutual goal to enter into an alliance agreement, perhaps as soon as this fall, which will allow the two organizations to partner on further initiatives pertaining to the demolition industry.
