FPT Industrial, which designs, produces and sells powertrains for on- and off-road vehicles, approved B20 biodiesel for use in its NEF4, NEF6 and Cursor Tier 4 Final diesel engines. The development means Case Construction Equipment G Series wheel loaders are now approved for use with B20 biodiesel directly from the factory. According to Case, B20 biodiesel is the most prevalent blend of biodiesel available in North America. Even with the approval, Case says it is important that all owners of construction equipment consult with their dealer and check their equipment warranty before using biodiesel in machines.

Hammers for large excavators debut
The new H190 S and H215 S Performance Series hammers deliver consistent breaking power, according to Caterpillar. Cat says the hammers’ efficient operation cycle results in less waste from internal heat and more power delivered to the tool. With piston and tool matched in diameter and mass, the hammers offer increased power transmission frequency. Operators can switch power mode from high frequency/low power to low frequency/high power, achieving the ability to fine-tune power to the material being broken.
Attachment tools for quicker, easier work

A new line of branded attachments that were tested for use on ASV machines was introduced. The attachments include a range of buckets, pallet forks, grapples and brush mowers, with each type available for every machine in ASV’s lineup. According to the company, this will benefit contractors by allowing them to work with an ASV dealer at a single point of contact for equipment and attachments. ASV’s equipment line includes all-purpose and all-season compact track loaders and skid steers.
