OSHA issues $2.8 million in COVID-19 violations

The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) says inspections resulted in a range of citations for violations related to the coronavirus.

OSHAThe Occupational Safety & Health Association (OSHA) issued 204 citations totaling about $2.8 million for violations related to the coronavirus.

According to the agency, OSHA inspections resulted in a range of citations for violations. Among the violations are failures to comply with the General Duty Clause of the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970; implement a written respiratory program; provide a medical evaluation, respirator fit test, training on the proper use of a respirator and personal protective equipment; record an injury or illness on OSHA record keeping forms; and report an injury, illness or fatality.

Of the 204 coronavirus-related citations, OSHA already announced 178 of them. The remaining 26 occurred between Oct. 30 and Nov.5, the agency says.
