A Caterpillar 765-hp engine powers Peterson’s 4710B track-mounted horizontal grinder, which weighs between 74,000 and 79,000 lbs. According to Peterson, the 4710B is the track-mounted version of its 4700B trailer-mounted unit. This particular grinder processes up to 425 cu. yd. per hour and has 18 in. of ground clearance, making it suitable for land-clearing operations. Other features of the 4710B are an adaptive control system, Peterson’s three-stage grinding process, a quick-change multiple grate system and an innovative latching impact release system.
