Haver & Boecker Niagara introduced a new component to its Pulse portfolio that is designed to monitor the health of vibrating screens. According to Haver & Boecker Niagara, Pulse Condition Monitoring is a wireless diagnostics tool that provides accurate measurements and forecasts, helping mineral processing operations to be proactive rather than reactive with their maintenance. The system captures real-time information on monitored equipment and provides alerts by email when it detects the first sign of potential problems. By constantly monitoring the accelerations of the vibration screen, Pulse Condition Monitoring provides a forecast of the equipment’s dynamic condition in intervals of 48 hours, five days and four weeks.

ABB: New water-cooled motor a next-generation design for users

ABB introduced the Baldor-Reliance HydroCool XT motor, which represents a new generation of water-cooled motors the company developed in response to market demands for improved technical features. According to ABB, the HydroCool XT offers customers the combination of flexible design, low maintenance and reliable performance in tough environments. As ABB describes, water-jacket cooling offers higher thermal conductivity than air cooling, helping to extend motor life while eliminating the need for fans or air filters. The HydroCool XT is available in four frame sizes – from 60 to 1,250 hp. Cooling efficiency is maintained even at lower speeds, ABB says, allowing the HydroCool XT to operate directly on line or as a variable-speed motor without derating or power loss.

Superior debuts HSI plant to market

Superior Industries’ new Sentry HSI (horizontal shaft impactor) is a closed-circuit model capable of producing up to four products. According to the company, the closed-circuit crushing and screening arrangement includes a 4250 Sentry HSI. A vibrating grizzly feeder feeds the plant and accommodates use in multiple applications. Additionally, a two-deck Anthem inclined screen screens up to three material sizes. Superior says returning material is fed back to the HSI via a recirculating conveyor, which centralizes the feed for full utilization and extended wear life of the crusher blow bars. On board, cross conveyors are universally designed to be interchangeable, meaning owners invest in fewer conveyors because they can be mixed and matched throughout the plant.

New option for cone, impact crushing plants

Kleemann’s Mobicone MCO 90(i) EVO2 mobile cone crusher and Mobirex MR 110(i) EVO2 mobile impact crusher can now be fitted with a double-deck post screening unit as an option. With the optional double-deck post screening unit, Kleemann says it is now possible to produce two classified final product sizes without utilizing an additional screening plant. According to the company, the screening surface makes screening sizes less than 7/8 in. especially effective. The discharge height of the fines conveyor is designed for a maximum stockpile volume, Kleemann says, while oversize material can be processed in a closed circuit via a return conveyor. As an option, Kleemann says the conveyor can be swiveled hydraulically by up to 100 degrees – making side discharge a possibility.

Major debuts screen media series

Major’s new Flex-Mat Modular Plus screen media offers the benefits of Flex-Mat and a wear life that’s comparable to a polyurethane, according to the company. Major says the efficiency-enhancing characteristics of all Flex-Mat screen media are created by bonding OptimumWire with polyurethane strips rather than weaving them. This allows wires to vibrate independently from end to end under material contact, the company says. The high frequency of the wires adds to the vibration of the screen box to speed up material separation and passing. As Major describes, the increased screening action improves material throughput while virtually eliminating near-size pegging on the top decks and fine material blinding and clogging on the bottom decks, resulting in a lower cost of production per ton.

BossTek debuts compact air cannon

BossTek introduced the DustBoss DB-10 to its line of atomized mist cannons. A 3/4-hp fan delivers 3,335 cu. ft. per minute of airflow, powered by a 120-volt current. Mounted on the front of the cannon is a circular manifold with 12 atomizing nozzles that fracture pressurized water into a fine mist up to 30 ft. It is offered with a standard wheeled carriage but can be specified with alternate mounting as needed. The DB-10 produces droplet sizes of 50 to 95 microns in size, BossTek says. The company says this is important because regulators test for respirable dust 10 microns or less, like those found in indoor demolition.
