Portable Plants ran into representatives from McLanahan Corp. at C&D World. The event, put on by the Construction & Demolition Recycling Association, took place Jan. 31 to Feb. 2 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort in Bonita Springs, Florida. Attending the show from McLanahan was Cory Jenson (far left), Mark Krause (second from left) and Neil Mullan (far right). Claire Hoover (third from left) was also at the show representing RubbleCrusher, a McLanahan brand.

Also in attendance at C&D World from Luck Stone were Eric Griffith, left, and Mitchell Howard. This year was the first time either attended the show. Howard, who joined Luck Stone in September as a C&D recycling foreman, was excited to take part in a show that highlights what he says is an often neglected facet of the industry.

Attending C&D World from Vermeer Corp. were David Barton, left, and Ted Dirkx. Toward the end of the first day of the show, Barton and Dirkx were impressed with attendee turnout and looking forward to the speakers and presentations on tap for the last two days of the event.

Throughout the three days of C&D World, there were several presentations attendees could take part in. Some of the offerings included a technology forum, an operations panel, a recycling plant case study and a keynote speech delivered by Bill Adams, chief economist at Comerica Bank.

Among the many presentations C&D World had to offer, one that took place Feb. 2 was an industry executives panel titled “View From the Top.” The panel, moderated by Michael Hoffman, managing director at Stifel (far right), aimed to provide insights on markets and market development, technology, business operations and more. Speaking on the panel were (from left) Charles Lomangino, CEO and manager of Southwest Waste; Matt Spencer, CEO of LRS; Jason Haus, CEO of Dem-Con Companies; and Ben Harvey, president of E.L. Harvey & Sons.
