Takeuchi-US, a manufacturer of compact construction equipment, released its TB257FR compact hydraulic excavator.
The TB257FR features an operating weight of 12,765 pounds, a maximum reach of 20 ft., 4.7 in. and a dig depth of 12 ft., 9.3 in. The excavator also features a patented side-to-side offset boom and is combined with a tail swing enabling it to fully rotate with little overhang, Takeuchi says. According to the company, the side-to-side boom feature allows the machine to dig offset to either side without the need to reposition.
Furthermore, the TB257FR is powered by a Kubota V2403-CR-TE5B turbocharged diesel engine and provides 52.3 horsepower, as well as 141.5-ft.-pound of torque. A DOC and DPF exhaust after treatment system ensures compliance with current EPA admissions standards, Takeuchi says, while providing environmentally-friendly operation.
The cab is equipped with a high back suspension seat, with a head rest to minimize fatigue and keep the operator comfortable during the workday. The cab also comes with A/C, heat, defrost, windshield wiper and washer, AM/FM/MP3 Bluetooth radio and a skylight with sunshade.
According to Takeuchi, the TB257FR is ideal for a variety of confined or compact job sites, including road and bridge work, city streets and between buildings.
“Takeuchi is excited to offer our customers the TB257FR excavator,” says Keith Kramlich, national product and training manager at Takeuchi-US. “Takeuchi’s commitment to our tradition of innovation and advancing technology is showcased in this machine. The patented side-to-side offset boom allows for greater working versatility, and the low center of gravity and optimized counterweight placement creates an extremely stable platform with lifting capabilities similar to that of a conventional machine.”
