JCB unveiled the 370X tracked excavator, the latest model in its X Series. According to the company, the 370X is JCB’s biggest and most powerful tracked excavator model yet. The heavy-duty excavator will bring its productivity, durability and reliability to the 35- to 40-ton sector. The 370X offers the ability to move 18 tons more material per gallon of fuel versus competitive models, JCB says. The excavator features a 322-hp Cummins diesel engine and a new JCB UX user interface with a 10-in. color touchscreen display and controls. Other 370X features are increased hydraulic pressures that boost performance in hard digging; extended service intervals for improved total cost of ownership; and an upgraded undercarriage and heavy counterweight for maximum stability.
New loader tech prioritizes operator visibility, awareness

John Deere expanded its portfolio of jobsite safety solutions and technology offerings with SmartDetect for select utility-class and production-class loaders. SmartDetect technology utilizes cameras, radar and machine-learning tools to enhance overall situational awareness and provide visibility to an operator’s surroundings. Prioritizing operator visibility, perception and awareness, SmartDetect combines cameras and machine learning to give operators a better view of their surroundings. SmartDetect utilizes the machine’s integrated digital cameras and a dedicated rearview high-resolution monitor to supplement an operator’s jobsite visibility. John Deere says the stereo camera on the rear of the machine enables depth perception to identify and classify known objects, further improving awareness. As the company describes, the SmartDetect system alerts operators when an object enters the machine’s projected travel path and provides unique detection alerts for the operator, as well as people in the camera’s field of view.
Compact track loader reaches new operational heights

Yanmar Compact Equipment launched the TL75VS as part of its new line of compact track loaders. The TL75VS excels in construction and other segments, including utility and rental applications, according to Yanmar. The vertical-lift unit boosts productivity in at-height work and truck-loading applications, featuring a high lift height and rated operating capacity. Weighing more than 9,000 pounds and powered by a 74-hp Yanmar Tier 4 Final diesel engine, the TL75VS maximizes performance and productivity for the best possible ROI, Yanmar says. The 10-ft., 6.5-in. max bucket pin height improves the TL75VS’s ability to load dirt into trucks and complete other at-height tasks. The compact track loader uses self-leveling technology and dual-direction capabilities to automatically level the load while raising and lowering loader arms, while return-to-position technology lets operators set a designated height for the loader arms. A work tool positioner enables users to select a preset for the attachment angle based on the job.
