Diesel-electric mobile crusher options from SBM Mineral Processing

SBM Mineral Processing offers a total of 12 track-mounted Jawmax jaw crushers and Remax impact crushers.

All classes of SBM mobile plants feature a diesel-electric drive concept with the option of full electric plug-in power supply from the grid or other external power sources. SBM’s Jawmax and Remax models provide a performance range of 200 to 600 tons, according to the company.

Remax 600

With an operating weight of about 80 tons, SBM’s Remax 600 – featuring a 1400 impact crusher with a feed opening of 55 in. x 39 in. – produces a maximum of 600 tph. The plant’s standard equipment includes options that can produce a wide range of end products.

In addition to standard pre-screening via a double-deck circular vibratory screen, three optional circular vibratory post-screens (one-, two- and three-deck) – including oversize grain return and wide overhanging discharge conveyors for large product piles – are available. While fully equipped, the system allows for one-piece transport and short set-up times without additional tools, according to SBM.

The Remax 600 is powered by a Cummins Tier 4 Final diesel engine and a generator or, optionally, fully electric from the mains, with plug-in switching and all system functions managed by SBM Crush Control. The system actively supports the machine operator: even at maximum capacity and full integration of all production screens, uninterrupted one-man operation is guaranteed with optimized consumption data and low environmental emissions SBM says.

Jawmax 450

The Jawmax 450 track-mounted jaw crusher from SBM is a 450 tph solution for raw materials and recycling.

The heart of the plant is a jaw crusher with a high crushing force, a feed opening of 43.3 in. x 28 in. for particle sizes up to 40 in. and crushing gap adjustment under load (1.5 to – 6.3 in.). The Crush Control system with automatic foreign object detection and overload protection ensures high availability, according to SBM.

Crusher performance is further optimized by the active double-deck circular vibrating pre-screen below the feed hopper: A triple flap regulates the discharge/bypass of the screened fine fractions, reducing crusher wear and increasing production through a significantly more homogeneous crushed material, the company says. The Jawmax 450 is equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid drive including a plug-in mains option and an electrically driven crusher and, according to the manufacturer, operates at an average consumption of 4 to 5 gal per hour even under full load.

The track-mounted Remax 450 impact crusher also features the active pre-screening solution that optimizes the performance of the 50 in. impact crusher (inlet: 50 in. x 32 in.) for feed sizes up to 40 in. The system has a maximum capacity of 450 tph, with transfers and conveyors allowing for the trouble-free production of a wide range of defined end products in a single pass, even when fully equipped with fine grain side discharge and optional half deck secondary screen with oversize grain return, according to SBM.

With its 8-cu.-meter feed hopper, large stockpile capacity and standard multi-function remote control, the crusher can be operated by one person from an excavator or wheel loader. Equipped with a diesel/generator unit and electric crusher motor, the Remax 450 weighs between 103,000 and 120,000 pounds depending on the equipment.
