Edge Innovate introduced its Edge Screenpro S18 heavy duty, tracked scalping screen.
The Screenpro S18 features an 18-ft. x 6-ft. two-deck screen that has interchangeable flip flow and conventional scalper screens, providing increased flexibility, according to Edge. Designed to process materials such as aggregate, construction waste, sand and gravel, soils and organic materials, the Screenpro S18 can be utilized as a stand-alone unit or placed before or after a primary crusher, Edge says.
Additional design features include a low-level feed hopper, two- or three-way split configuration, hydraulic folding discharge conveyors for a quick transition from operation to transport and a fully integrated power unit with large service access.
The Screenpro S18 offers a 55-in. wide, variable speed feeder with forward and reverse functionality. Edge’s load management system constantly monitors conveyor load pressures and regulates feeder speed resulting in increased uptime, less material overload and optimum screening production at any given time, according to the company. Hydraulic folding hopper extensions allow for side loading and a folding hopper rear door provides further loading flexibility.
At the heart of the Screenpro S18 is an Edge-designed, high-stroke scalping screen with a screening area of up to 21.7 sq. yd. and a wide variable working angle to suit an array of applications, Edge says. The high stroke action results in increased material separation, and a large screening area ensures precision fines separation.
The screenbox includes hydraulic lift-up functionality to optimize the mesh exchange process, supported by full access walkways on both sides of the screen. A wide range of screen media options can be used with the Screenpro S18, including woven mesh, punch plate, finger screens and bofor (grizzly) decks to achieve a variety of final grain sizes and process different feed material.

Additional specs
To meet the demands of recycling applications, the Screenpro S18 can be equipped with both over-band magnets and magnetic head drums for extraction and recovery of ferrous metals, according to Edge.
The oversize discharge conveyor features a heavy duty 63-in. chevron belt as standard with a combination of impact bars and rollers absorbing the impact from loading material to help extend the life of the belt.
The Edge Screenpro S18 also offers remote functionality for improved operator efficiency and safety, the company says. All major functions on the S18 – including tracking, feed conveyor speed adjustment, sequential start up and hopper jacklegs – can be remotely operated from a safe distance of up to 100 meters or in an operator’s cabin.
Powered by either a Caterpillar or Cummins Tier 4 Final/Stage V ACERT engine, Edge says the Screenpro S18 drive system provides the operator with a reliable, durable and fuel efficient screening solution.
Edge also offers a hybrid option that it says further enhances cost savings and environmental benefits, combining the advantages of an electric power unit with traditional diesel/hydraulic power. Utilizing a small onboard diesel engine for tracking and set up, operators can connect to an external electricity supply once the machine is in position.
