Brady Meldrem, president of Norris Asphalt Paving Co. in Ottumwa, Iowa, was named 2024 chairman of the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA).

A longtime NAPA member, Meldrem has served the association in numerous volunteer capacities. In addition to years of board service, notable contributions include elevating issues and innovations from his home state of Iowa as state advisor for 11 years, as well as increasing the industry’s focus on warm-mix asphalt as a member of that task force, according to NAPA.

His ascent from membership to chairmanship mirrors his career, in which he began as a truck driver, before rising to president of Norris Asphalt Paving. For his accomplishments, Meldrem was inducted into the Iowa Hot Mix Asphalt Hall of Fame in 2017 by the Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa.

Rounding out NAPA’s 2024 national officers are first vice chair Patrick Nelson, president and CEO of Lehman-Roberts Co. in Memphis, Tennessee; second vice chair Jay Lemon, president of Haskell Lemon Construction Co. in Oklahoma City; secretary Jason Duininck, partner at Duininck Inc. in Chaska, Minnesota; and treasurer Robert Doucet, president of Barrett Industries, a Colas Co., in Morristown, New Jersey.

Meldrem will be sworn in at NAPA’s 2024 Annual Meeting by 2023 chairman Christian Zimmermann, New England group president of CRH Americas Materials in Belmont, New Hampshire.

Registration to attend NAPA’s Annual Meeting is available online through January 19 and is open to NAPA members, guests, media and industry stakeholders.
