Metso appointed Renaud Lapointe president of its aggregates business area and a member of its leadership team, effective Nov. 15.

Lapointe succeeds Markku Simula, who shared on Aug. 11 that he was going to leave Metso once a successor was found.

Lapointe currently serves as president of Metso’s Europe and Central Asia market area, a position he has held since December 2024. He joined Metso in 2005 and led the Metso Products aggregates business line from 2018 to 2024.

“I am excited to return to the aggregates business and lead such a highly respected global organization,” Lapointe says. “With its strong customer relationships, industry-leading solutions, and talented team, the business is well positioned for continued success and growth.”

According to Metso president and CEO Sami Takaluoma, Lapointe brings experience from both the company’s aggregates business and its market area organization.

“This combination will support the continued development of our offering and close cooperation with customers,” he says. “I look forward to welcoming him to the Metso leadership team.”
